Family life plays a critical role in human civilization. It is a small world in that we are born, nurtured and brought up predominantly amid our families. Family ideals and traditions naturally leave an everlasting impression influencing our character and habits. These factors, almost always taken for granted, are in essence strongly responsible for our behaviors and developments.

The Holy Qur’an has laid immense weight on family life; touching on the minutest aspects (for guidance) in the most elaborate form.

The Holy Quran in Surah Furqan: Verse 74 says:
“And those who say: ‘O’ our Lord! Grant us from our wives and our offspring the joy of our eyes, and make us for the pious ones (their) Imams.”

And in Surah Rum: Verse 21 says:
“And among His Signs is this that He created for you mates from among yourselves that ye may dwell in tranquility with them and He has put love and mercy between your (hearts); verily in that are Signs for those who reflect.”

Keeping this all in mind, AFWB is pleased to announce an essay writing competition for women aged 30 and above.

The main idea of such an essay is to provide building blocks for sustainable marital relationships with the aim of having happy and healthy families that follow the footsteps of the Ahlulbayt (AS).

We hope many ladies will take part in this competition and share their experiences.

Therefore, please write an Essay on one of the three topics given below:

  1. "A good family order serves as a model for the society and its people determining the future of a nation".
  2. “DISCUSS an ideal family as preferred by Islam - distinguishing the different family structures, roles of men, women and children and the changes necessary to sustain in the developing world”.
  3. Imam e Zamana (atfs) says: “Bibi Fatima (AS) is my role model”.

Explain and discuss how one can implement it in their lives by giving practical examples.

Please bear with us while the Africa Federation Website undergoes some essential maintenance works.
