Further to our Circular Ref. No. JMT/84/14 of July 5, 2014 in which the appointment of Alhaj Akil Hirji, Chairman of the Africa Federation Economic and Housing Development Board was announced, we are pleased to make further announcement of the appointments of the Board Members by the Chairman of the Africa Federation, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi, they are:

Alhaj Shabir Najafi, the Vice Chairman and Alhaj Kumail Manji, the Assistant Hon. Secretary of Africa Federation from the Secretariat will be the ex-officio members of the Board in advisory capacities.

CIRCULAR NO: JMT/84/14                                                                 

The Chairman of the Africa Federation, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi is pleased to announce the appointment of Alhaj Akil Hirji as the Chairman of the Africa Federation Economic and Housing Development Board for the remaining term, 2013 – 2016.
 
Akil bhai takes over the combined functions of the Housing and Economic Empowerment sectors following the adoption of the new Terms of Reference (TOR) of the Board at the 75th Session of the Supreme Council of the Federation of KSI Jamaats of Africa held in Dar es Salaam from 2nd to 3rd May 2014.
 
The Economic and Housing Development areas are largely inter-linked in its functions which involve initiatives and strategic planning with a focused direction in meeting the aims and objectives of the Africa Federation for sustainable growth in the economy and enriching the standard of living of our community members by working cohesively with our Jamaats for the development in these sectors.
 
Profile of Alhaj Akil Hirji
Alhaj Akil Hirji was born in Zanzibar 1966. At a very young age he moved with his family to Dar-es-Salaam where pursued his primary and secondary education. Thereafter, he with his brothers jointly formed Travel Industry & Estate business in Dar es Salaam in 1984. He is a successful businessman operating a number of family commercial ventures. He is married and has 2 children.

 Akilbhai's community, social and voluntary services spans almost three decades. His passion to serve the community throughout has neither dimmed nor diminished, as he gained more experience, did he become more devoted and committed.

CIRCULAR NO: JMT/152/2012

We are pleased to announce the following appointments of Committee Members to the Africa Federation Al Qa'eem Housing Project in Arusha. The Committee consists of the following:-

Munawer Bharwani    of Dar es Salaam     -      Chairman
Salimali Panjwani      of Dar es Salaam     -       Secretary
Shabbir Virjee             of Arusha                    -       Member
Sajjad Versi                 of Arusha                    -       Member
Rizwan Sajan              of Arusha                    -       Member

The Committee will have overall responsibility of the project from the design stage up to its completion. Terms of Reference (ToR) covering the administration and management aspects of the Project will be provided to the above Members as soon as possible.

The groundbreaking of the above project was performed on 4th March 2012 and is expected to take off soon once the town council formalities and the securing of building permits are completed.

We are pleased to state that the above mentioned Committee Members possess vast knowledge and experiences in structure and building engineering, also construction management; this will certainly be of great advantage in ensuring adequate compliance in maintaining high standards of construction and quality by the contractors.
