To promote the Madhab of Ahlul Bait (a.s.) with other non-member Shia communities and with Muslims and non-Muslims at large on our society.

BMMTJuloos1On Sunday, 2nd December 2012, a procession to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Husayn (AS) was organized by Bilal Muslim Mission, The day time procession from Bilal Comprehensive School complex in Temeke saw a large participation. Students from the Bilal schools (Nursery, Primary and Hawza) participants from different sectors from both genders from the Khoja and other communities walked in a somber procession to mark the great martyrdom of the grandson of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saww).

The program began with the recitation of some verses from the Holy Qur'an followed by an allegiance salute by Hawzatul Bilal Students.

Marthiyas and nawhas in the local language were recited and messages extolling the virtues of the Holy Imam were delivered by different scholars and students.

Following the recent appointments of the Central Bilal Board (CBB) by the Chairman of Africa Federation, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi, the CBB Chairman, Alhaj Mohsin A. Lalji and the Hon. Secretary, Alhaj Inayat Alidina held their first meeting with Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania. Subsequently they visited Mombasa, Kenya from 14th to 15th December, 2012 to meet the Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya Board Members and to familiarize themselves with the Missions activities.

The Africa Federation Hon. Secretary, Alhaj Aunali Khalfan, the Hon. Treasurer, Alhaj Mohamed Hemani and the newly appointed CEO of Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania, Alhaj Mumtazhussein Alloo also accompanied the CBB delegation to Mombasa.

CBBK6On Friday, 14th December, the delegation attended majlis-e-Aza'a of the 20th of Seyyed al-Shuhada', Imam Hussain (AS) after maghribain prayers at Hydery Imambargha, the majlis was recited eloquently in English by the visiting Scholar from the UK, Sheikh Ayub Rashid followed by majlis in Urdu recited by Seyed Sarkar Abidi.

BILAL Hall
Activities organized by Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya for the first 10 days included a series of 10 day majaalis conducted after Maghribayn prayers at Bilal Hall Mombasa. Informative and educative lectures were delivered by renowned scholars on various topics related to the importance of remembering the martyrs of Karbala, lessons from the sacrifice of Imam Husayn (a.s) into our day-to-day lives, etc.

BMMK Rural Centres
Similar majaalis were conducted across all the BMMK centres. Centre muallims and other scholars from diverse institutions such as Madrasah Amirul Mu'minin Matuga took leadership of the majaalis to the indigenous community.

The Mission also organized special sessions for ladies after dhuhrayn prayers. These sessions were led by centre Muballighat / Students from Zahra Madrasah – Mombasa and WIPAHS, Tanzania. The local women benefitted from these sessions through sharing of knowledge and experiences with their sisters.

On Ashura Day, Juloos processions were observed across all the BMMK Centres. In areas where centres were not very far from each other, mu'mineen converged at a common meeting ground and conducted amaals of Ashura together. At the peak of the programs, lectures were delivered by Centre Muallims.

Hawzatul Bilal marked its second graduation this year, 8 out of 13 students who graduated, and were admitted to Hawzatul Qaim, Tanga, to pursue further religious studies. Whilst congratulating the graduates, we take this opportunity to thank the management of Hawzatul Qaim of Tanga for their cooperation and support. The two hour program was the also the occasion whereby the graduates and existing students were presented with gifts to mark the occasion

HB1It was an honour for the Bilal Campus to have shaykhs from various institutions and Sheikh Murtadha Alidina as the Guest of Honour, as well as Office Bearers from Africa Federation and the Chairman of Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania, Br. Shabbir Somji who was also present. The function was held on 14th November 2012, in the Husayniya at Bilal campus, Temeke.

Mumtazhussein_AllooWe are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Mumtazhussein Roshan Alloo to the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania effective 1st January 2013.

Mr. Alloo has a long and vast experience having worked for the Tanzania Government for 40 years in senior positions; he held the position of Director of Air Navigation Services in Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority before retiring from the services in early 2009.

In the course of his services, Mr. Alloo had the opportunity to travel to many parts of the world, participating in many international and regional meetings, workshops, symposiums and trainings. Over a period of time he has established a good network and PR with external agencies and institutions.

Temeke Campus:

Eid-e-Ghadeer was celebrated over a period of two days at Bilal Campus, Temeke, Dar es Salaam.

On Thursday, 1st November 2012, students of Primary began with Dhuhrayn prayers followed by a short stage program on Ghadeer. The program consisted of a couple of Qasidas and Poems written by the students themselves.

gha1The highlight of the program was a short practical drama that is expected to have left an impact on the youngsters' minds with a conceptual understanding of the event of Ghadeer.

The morning of 25th October 2012(9th DhulHijja 1433 AH) dawned a bright sunny day at the Bilal Campus. The students of Nursery, Primary and Hawza were filled with excitement as they all waited for the demonstration of the Haj rituals to begin, and later for each one to be able to view and circumbulate the Ka'aba model.

The demonstration started with teacher Yassin leading a chorus of 'Labbayk, Allahumma Labbayk', followed by a poem on the Hajj rituals in step by step order.

A small group of students, dressed in white, some in male ihrams and others in salah chadors performed the demonstration, as the poem was recited.
