Unity amongst the Muslim Community

One of the important roles played by Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya is to preach peace and unity amongst Muslim communities.

The Mission organized an Open forum at Ahlul Bayt Centre, Moyeni on 24th February 2013, where members of the community, irrespective of their religious affiliations, age or gender were invited.

To mark the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W), Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya organized a grand function on 2nd February, 2013 at the Bilal Hall, Mombasa.

The function attracted Muslims brothers from all corners of Mombasa and its environs including Madressahs.

Qaswida were recited by students from Madrasah Amirul Mu'minin Matuga, Madrasah Swalihin Kisauni and other Islamic institutions.

An elaborative and enlightening speech by Sheikh Rijali Bwana Rijali, articulated the topic on prophethood from Prophet Adam (a.s.) to Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w).

MILAD-UN NABI SEMINAR IN MOMBASA

bmmk_maulid_3The Mission, for the first time organized a Milad-un Nabi Seminar at Samburu Secondary School on 17th February 2013, where 20 secondary schools were invited, with individual number of students with attendance of about 900.  The Theme of the seminar was "PEACE and UNITY" reflecting on the life of the Holy Prophet Mohamed (SAWW)

Ustadh Salim Chimvatsi, spoke on "The Spread of Islam"

Sheikh Musa Shali, spoke on "Peace and The Prophet's Leadership."

There was a question and answer session after the lectures. Many questions were posed from the curious students on the prophet's leadership in comparison with the current leadership. The Seminar was interactive and great interest was shown by the participants.

bmmk_maulid_4Local leaders from the area, teachers and other leaders who showed keen interest expressed their appreciations to the mission for organizing such a forum.

THE HOLY PROPHET MOHAMMAD'S BIRTHDAY (MAULIDI DAY – 1434 AH) CELEBRATIONS

Bilal Campus celebrated the Holy Prophet (SAWW) Birth Day on 30th January 2013. The Hawzatul Bilal students joined Hawzatul Ghadeer in Kigogo, and the rest of the community gathered in the BCS campus for celebrations that included a variety of traditional displays and educational presentations.

The Free Eye Camp was conducted in Tanga regions, fully sponsored by NAHACO/TPPL of Tanga. The organizers took advantage of the long Maulid weekend to carry out the Eye Camp from 25th to 27th January 2013.

Initial screening were carried out at Zingibari Secondary School in Duga, those identified for cataract surgery were referred to Bombo Hospital in Tanga. The next day the camp moved to Manza Primary School in Mkinga and on the last day at our KSI Jamaat Imambargha in Tanga.

Above - honouring the eye camp Coordinator, Alhaj Anver Merali Alibhai

The Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania organized an eye camp, sponsored by Tanzania Road Haulage (1980) Ltd., at Ruangwa, Lindi Region, more than 500 km from Dar es Salaam.  This was the longest camp, in terms of days, in the history of Bilal Muslim Mission Tanzania Free Eye Camp, from 22nd – 26th December, 2012.

ad2The Bilal Comprehensive School during the ANNUAL DAY celebrations at the end of the year honoured and awarded the top students and staff members. All parents are invited at the event. Opportunity is taken to deliver message of child upbringing and school needs in form of a variety program. This year the program was delayed due to the mourning months (Muharram and Safar).

On 31st December 2012, the head office staff of Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania gathered to bid farewell to Alhaj Mustafa Sheriff, who was employed as the Executive Secretary of the Mission since past 4 years. At the gathering, staff members expressed their appreciation for the work done by Mustafa bhai during his tenure who was initially in the Inspectorate section and later on took up the post of an Executive Secretary.

They alluded to the challenging work done by Mustafa bhai during his tenure to take the Mission towards self-sufficiency and empowering the regional centers.

The staff thanked Br. Mustafa for his approachable personality and his goodwill during his tenure. The incoming Chief Executive Officer, Alhaj Mumtazhussein Alloo expressed his profound appreciation for the cooperation and assistance extended by Br. Mustafa during the transition period which enabled him to grasp the work at the head office effectively. Br. Mumtazhussein assured the staff that he will work tirelessly to promote the goals of the Mission and, will provide all the support to the staff to perform their duties efficiently.

A small token of their appreciation was presented to Br. Mustafa by the staff and wished him a prosperous future and success in his new career.

Br. Mustafa thanked the staff for their kind words and affection and recounted his pleasant experience of working learning a lot from them. He wished them all a very pleasant and successful future and urged them to strive for the success of the Mission.
