As school holidays had begun, students were now returning to their homes. Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya took this opportunity to introduce the special holiday classes for two weeks to teach Islamic Religious Education to these students to gain maximum benefit during this holiday.

The classes were held from 16th April 2013 to 26th April 2013 at Samburu centre. A total of 50 students coming from different schools i.e. Mazeras Secondary School, Matuga Girls, Rasul Academy - Nairobi, Rasul Academy - Nakuru, Kwale High, Chumani secondary, Samburu Secondary, Samburu Primary and Maziyani Primary School attended the sessions.

Ust Yahya Mwangi and Ust Hassan Maina from BMMK facilitated these classes.

MOSHI BRANCH OF BILAL TANZANIA COMMEMORATES
THE DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF HAZRAT FATEMAH AZ ZAHRA (SA)

Being the days marking the tragic death of Hazrat Fatimah (SA), the daughter of the Holy Prophet of Islam, Bilal Muslim Mission - Moshi Branch, held Majalis in all of their 4 branches. The Majalises were delivered in Kiswahili by Sheikhs and by the students.

Booklets, donated by Al Mahdi Center, on the life of Hazrat Fatimah (SA) in Kiswahili, were distributed to the students and to the ladies who attended evening classes followed by quiz.

The pictures below show students answering questions on the life of the daughter of our beloved Holy Prophet (SAWW).

BILAL CAMPUS COMMEMORATES DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF HOLY LADY HAZRAT FATEMA AZ ZAHRA (SA)

Shahadat of Holy Lady Fatema (SA) was commemorated on Friday, 12th April 2013 at the Bilal Comprehensive School (BCS) Dar-es-Salaam along with Qur'an Khitmah for the victims who lost their lives in the building which collapsed on 29th March 2013.

The Nursery pupils were given explanation on the life of Lady Fatema (SA) by their teachers which included a movie show, and the Lower Primary were given a talk by their teachers followed by Quiz activity sheets to evaluate on the talk given to the pupils.

CONDUCTS FREE EYE CAMP NACHINGWEA
29TH MARCH TO 1ST APRIL 2013

The Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania organized a free eye camp over the Easter weekend (29 March to 1 April 2013), at Nachingwea in the southern region of Tanzania, more than 620 km from Dar es Salaam.  The camp was fully sponsored by Beta Charitable Trust of the United Kingdom.

Camp was set at Nachingwea Primary School; a kitchen was also set in the School for the meals for the eye camp workers and the patients from the day they were admitted for surgery until their discharged. Seven lodges were hired to accommodate doctors and volunteers the bus had to make rounds to pick them up. An advance party had travelled two days prior to the start of the Camp to make arrangements with the local officials and to reach out to the patients in nearby villages.

Nearly 3022 patients were screened and 112 cataract surgeries performed by Dr. Jerry and his team at the Nachingwea Hospital during the period. Another 140 patients will have their cataract surgery during the Union Day weekend (26th to 28th April 2013) by the same team of doctors and nurses.

One of the important roles played by Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya is to preach peace and unity amongst Muslim communities.

The Mission organized an Open forum at Ahlul Bayt Centre, Moyeni on 24th February 2013, where members of the community, irrespective of their religious affiliations, age or gender were invited.
