BILAL MUSLIM MISSION OF TANZANIA HANDS OVER MEDICINES TO MAFIA HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN:

The handing over of medicines and various other items took place during the Nurses Day celebration which took place from 22nd – 24th May 2015 at Kilindoni Mafia Island.

The combined efforts of Khairun Bai Alibhai (Mama Keki) and her colleague Anar Bai JanMohamed of ensuring the medicines reach Mafia safely is worth noting. This was done with the help of Hon. Shah, MP of Mafia who facilitated in transporting the medicines to Mafia by Dhows/boats.

The handing over was honored by the presence of the Hon. Member of Parliament of Mafia and the Mafia Regional Commissioner.

We are indebted to the Hon. Shah – MP of Mafia for all his help including bearing all costs for transporting them.

Our sincere gratitude to Brother Suhail of Core Pharmacy for giving us the medicine at a reasonable price.

This initiative is a follow up of the Bilal Tanzania Free Eye Camp held recently in Mafia Island (Archipelago) whereby the need was realized for medicines to assist the general public, especially children in this small Island in the Indian Ocean 21 km off the Rufiji River Delta in Central Tanzania. Mafia Island is about 50 km long by 15 km across with a population of about 45,000.

Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all the donors for the project and to the volunteers, especially Mama Keki and her team for their efforts and dedication towards the noble cause.

May ALLAH (S.W.T) reward them all abundantly – Aameen.
