To promote the Madhab of Ahlul Bait (a.s.) with other non-member Shia communities and with Muslims and non-Muslims at large in Kenya



With continuous training received from the Mission on empowerment.  The women groups have come up with the idea of creating a platform to market their products in different areas.  One such step forward was facilitating local trade fairs in their villages.

The first local trade fair was hosted by Lamkani Women Group, Mackinon Road village, on 21st August, 2013.   Members from 15 Women groups under BMMK Economic Upliftment Project from Ukambani, Taita and South Coast participated in the trade fair.

Youths are a vital pillar in any society; hence it is the responsibility of every society to nurture and invest in them for they are the future generation of the society we live in.

youth1With this in mind, Muslim youths from diverse backgrounds and localities within and around Mombasa County were given a common platform to discuss the fundamental roles that youth can play in this dynamic world at a seminar organized at Kenya Muslim Women Hall, Mombasa on Saturday, 19th October 2013.

Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya was instrumental in providing the necessary support in the organization of the event.

dumbule_2Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya in conjunction with Kwale District Eye Centre organized an eye camp on Tuesday 22nd October 2013 at Dumbule Primary School in Kinango to assist patients who were in need of these services.

People of different ages with various eye problems gathered early in the morning carrying rays of hope.

Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya wish to express its sincere gratitude for the continuous support received from the Africa Federation Tableegh Board (AFTAB) and IEB of the World Federation in sponsoring annually participants to attend the "Madinah and Bab Al Ilm Short Summer Courses" which is held in Qum, Iran.

This year, two students Khadija Muweye, from Jafferiya Centre, Mackinon Road and Leila Mwaka from Amani Centre, Dembwa were selected for the Course.  And for the first time, Sis Ruiya Salim from Zahra Madrasah Mombasa was selected as mentor for Madinah and Bab Al Ilm Short Summer Courses.

Economic Upliftment Project of BMMK – Module 2

eu1aIn continuation towards empowerment of the women in the rural areas, Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya organized six day Module 2 training on Business Management for Lamkani women group in Mackinnon road centre. The main objective of this module was to help the women from the Micro-finance groups understand:

  • The importance of starting a profitable business.
  • Importance of controlling their business cash.
  • Profit and loss in a business.
  • Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of a business.
  • The marketing tools (6p's) i.e. Place, Product, Promotion, Price, People, and Plan
  • The importance of record keeping for their business transactions.
