Al Mahdi Centre – Samburu in collaboration with Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya organized a youth-based forum on 31st March 2013 to deliberate on issues affecting youth of today at the grass root level.



Drug abuse being a major challenge amongst the youth today, a group of youths led by Rama Muti Bati presented a play on the Importance of education, Awareness on HIV/AIDS and Marriage.  These issues were presented from an Islamic perspective.


Ustadh Muhammad Hirbae, spoke on this issue giving an in-depth implications on drugs and intoxication. At the end of his brief talk he appealed to the youth to avoid use of drug whether with strong or mild effect.

Ustadh Ramadhan Mlala, spoke about the status of existence.   He outlined the different stages through which a human being passes through, right from conception, till resurrection on the Day of Judgment.  He mentioned that one's relationship with his Creator here on earth will determine his success or failure in the hereafter.

This was followed by an inter-active session of question and answer.  The youths posed various questions that were responded to by Ustadh Ramadhan Mlala and Ustadh Muhammad Hirbae.

On behalf of Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya, Sheikh Ramadhan Ngwame challenged those who have attended to put into practice what has been said in the forum.

The Master of Ceremony, Br. Muhsin Lewa a youth from Al Hujjah centre Chengoni, on his closing remarks said : "No doubt the world has made great strides in area of science and technology but the soul is thirsty spiritually"

The forum attracted various personalities and centres from the vicinity namely: Chengoni, Mackinon Road, Mwembeni, Mwarophesa e.t.c

"The function has been very successful because the message that has been put across was relevant and had been presented in an appropriate way; it did sink well. I am looking forward to such a function again in the near future." Mr. Fadhili Kauli, a participant from Al Hujjah Centre, Chengoni


The Mission plans to have more of these kinds of forums in other regions.
